6. Request procedure (sections 53 & 56)
- Complete the prescribed Form 2 (request for access to a record of a private body).
- Email the form to privacy@cyntech.co.za.
- Pay the prescribed request fee (R50.00) on invoice; access fees may apply for reproduction and search time.
- We will respond within 30 days (extendable by a further 30 days under section 57).
- If access is refused, you have a right of internal review and a right to lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator or apply to court.
7. Grounds for refusal (Chapter 4 of PAIA)
We may refuse access to records that contain personal information of third parties (s63), commercial information of third parties (s64), confidential information held for third parties (s65), records protected by privilege (s67), records relating to research (s69), or where disclosure is otherwise prohibited.
8. POPIA & data subject requests
Requests for access to your own personal information are handled under our POPIA Notice. Form 2 is used for both PAIA access requests and POPIA section 24 corrections.
